Solution 1 - Lower screen resolution settings
1. Right click on your desktop and select Display Settings
2. Under resolution, temporarily change it to 800x600 (or to 1024x768, 1280x768)
3. Try the game again as it should now open
4. Go back to resolution and change your settings back to the recommended setting and your game should continue to work
Solution 2 - Change the compatibility settings (Windows 10 and 11 only)
1. Right-click on the game icon from the desktop and choose Properties
2. Select the Compatibility tab
3. Check Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 3) and also try (Service Pack 2) if 3 does not solve the problem. Please also try this by choosing the Windows 7 option if Windows XP does not work
4. Importantly, make sure you check the box run this as an administrator
5. Click Apply and then OK
6. Now try opening the game again

Solution 4 - Run the compatibility troubleshooter (Windows 10 and 11 only)
Right click on the game icon and choose Troubleshoot Compatibility and follow the suggestions outlined by Windows.
